FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

HOW DO WE ORDER? - Federal Flood offers clients multiple ordering options, including Internet, at         www.fedflood.com.  Most orders are returned within seconds and are returned through your choice of fax, email, or Internet download.

WHAT IF WE USE A FRONT-END LOAN ORIGINATION SYSTEM OR A BUNDLED SERVICE PROVIDER? - For clients requiring more complex ordering options, Federal Flood offers business to business electronic interfaces that allow the transmittal of data directly from Front-End systems to Federal Flood.

HOW FAST IS YOUR SERVICE? - Through online ordering and electronic interface, certificates are returned within seconds in most cases.  Those not returned are processed through Federal Flood's HardRain Mapping System, where turnaround times average less than 5 hours.  All certificates are guaranteed within one business day.

HOW DOES LIFE-OF-LOAN TRACKING WORK? - Our fully transferable Life-of-Loan certificates are fully compliant with the National Flood Insurance Reform Act of 1994 and are monitored electronically through Federal Flood's HardRain System for any changes in flood zone status.  Upon identifying a change in status, the system re-determines any affected property and sends an update letter to the Lender on record.

WHAT IF A BORROWER DISPUTES A DETERMINATION? - If a borrower disputes a Federal Flood Determination, and can provide proper supporting documentation, we will prepare and submit an application to FEMA, on the borrowers behalf, to remove the property from the Special Flood Hazard area.  Federal Flood will then purchase a flood insurance policy for one year, covering the property through the closing process and allowing the lender to close the loan.

CAN YOU PROVIDE INSURANCE? - Federal Flood is affiliated with Flood Insurance Services, Inc., a provider of standard and force-placed NFIP products.  Free quotes, tracking, and portfolio reviews are also available.

WHAT OTHER SERVICES DO YOU PROVIDE? - Federal Flood provides clients with no setup charges, no monthly minimums, free rush service, portfolio reviews, free LOMA/LOMR application services, free insurance quotes, and customized billing.  In addition, property locator maps and HMDA (Home Mortgage Disclosure Act) information are provided on all determinations at no charge.
